Anti-graffiti film puts a clear, replaceable layer in front of that face, so the marks land on the film. When the film is removed, the glass underneath is uncovered in its original condition, provided the damage did not go beyond the film layer. That is the whole idea behind the category, and it is why it is described as a sacrificial layer rather than a hardened coating.

It depends on how much film is affected, the size and number of panels, and how accessible they are. A single tagged pane is a much smaller job than a full frontage or an elevator interior. The saving comes from changing what has to be replaced. Installers routinely plan around opening hours and quieter periods to keep interruption down. Agree the approach and timing with the dealer handling your enquiry so you know what to expect on the day.

Anti-graffiti film is planned in advance, so there is already a layer in place to take the hit, and the response is a replacement of that layer. Security film is designed to help hold broken glass together after an impact, which is about how the glazing behaves when it fails; it is not a guarantee against entry or injury. Anti-graffiti film is a removable surface layer that protects appearance and is meant to be replaced once marked.
