Colorado sets its tint limits by how much light gets through the finished window, glass and film together, so the number on the roll is only half the story. This guide sets out the limit for each window, what a breach is classed as, and how Kepler's nano-ceramic films give you heat control while staying inside those limits.

Colorado treats tint as an equipment matter, and the statute puts responsibility at both ends of the job. Driving a vehicle whose windows fall below the limit is a class B traffic infraction, while installing, covering or treating glass so that it breaks the limit is a class A traffic infraction in its own right. That is worth knowing before you settle on a shade, because the film that keeps the cabin comfortable also has to keep you legal.
Removing illegal film is separate work from fitting it: adhesive clings, edges tear and rear-window heating lines need care. Agreeing a legal shade at quote stage avoids the job altogether.
Colorado's limits come from the state's vehicle equipment statute, and they are written around the window as it ends up: the glass with whatever has been applied to it has to pass the light transmittance test. The panels below show how that works out for passenger vehicles and for multi-purpose vehicles such as SUVs and vans, with a before and after view of each window so you can see the legal shade rather than guess at it.
Passenger Vehicles
Passenger cars, from sedans and coupes to convertibles, are covered by the same light transmittance rule as every other motor vehicle in Colorado. Open each window below to see the limit that applies to it and how that shade actually looks on the glass.
A non-reflective tint / sun strip, is allowed 4 inches from the top as long as it does not go past the AS-1 line on your windshield.
The law allows 27% of light visibility for front side windows.
The law allows 27% of light visibility for rear side windows.
The rear window must allow more than 27% of light in

SUVs, vans and pickups are the multi-purpose end of the range, and Colorado does not hand them a darker allowance: the statute applies to motor vehicles generally, so the same light transmittance limits apply to their side and rear glass. Open each window to compare the legal shade before you choose a film.

Kepler IR and IR+ are nano-ceramic films made without metal or dye, so they handle infrared energy instead of relying on a dark shade. Ask which range and shade is quoted, and compare the figures for that shade against Colorado's limit.

Pick a Colorado town to open its window tinting page. Every one of them uses the same quote form, and your details go to an independent local tinter, who talks through film, shade and price with you directly. A page here is a place to start that conversation rather than confirmation of a shop on that particular high street.

Kepler is a film manufacturer, and the businesses fitting our film in Colorado are independent: they quote, schedule and carry out the work themselves. When you send an enquiry here it goes to an independent local tinter, who takes it from there, so the film, the shade and what the job involves on your vehicle are all agreed directly with the people doing it.

How Kepler works
Kepler makes the film, not the tint job. Independent tinting businesses install window film. For a project, ask a local tinter whether they carry Kepler film or can get it, then arrange the work directly with that shop.

Colorado's tint rule sits in the vehicle equipment part of state law, so a breach is a traffic infraction rather than a criminal charge. Driving a vehicle whose windows fall below the limit is a class B traffic infraction. The statute treats the fitting more seriously: installing, covering or treating glass so that it breaks the limit is a class A traffic infraction. What you actually pay is set through the court handling the citation, which is why the practical answer is to agree a compliant shade before any film goes on the glass.
