Laminated glass already has an interlayer bonded between two sheets, so it is designed to hold together when broken. Adding security film puts another layer on the room side, which can help with surface fragments and, depending on the product chosen, bring glare, heat or UV benefits as well. As always, the glazing should be identified first: laminated, insulated and coated units all respond differently, and your installer can advise what is appropriate.

The best choice is the one matched to your glass and your reason for fitting film. Security films are made in different thicknesses and finishes, from near-clear products that keep a room bright to tinted options that also cut glare or add daytime privacy.
