Ceramic Window Tint for Vermont Cars

Here they are the same thing. The ceramic layer goes after infrared, the heat you feel through the glass. Kepler IR rejects 81% of it and Kepler IR+ up to 98%, and both let less than 1% of ultraviolet light through. Those are film figures rather than a promise about cabin temperature: what you feel in a Vermont August also depends on the shade you fit, the glass it goes on and how long the car has been standing in the sun. Three things. It filters infrared heat before it reaches the cabin. It cuts glare, which matters as much against a low winter sun on snow as against a bright July one. And it holds back ultraviolet light, keeping it off your skin and off the interior. There is no metal coating in the film, so your phone, GPS, keyless entry and radio work as they did before, and because the color comes from ceramic rather than dye it is built to stay where it started.

Ceramic film is easy to live with. Leave the windows up while it cures and give any light haze time to clear; how long that takes depends on the weather, so ask the installer before you drive away. After that, clean the inside of the glass with a soft cloth and a gentle cleaner, and keep scrapers, brushes and anything gritty off the film. You can get a rough idea at home. Park in the sun, put a thermometer on the back seat and compare a tinted window with an untinted one; it is a comparison rather than a measurement, because the glass, the angle of the sun and the time the car has been standing all move the result. Vermont keeps the front of the car clear. Nontransparent material may not be applied over the windshield, the vent windows or the side windows immediately to your left and right. Behind you it is a different story: the rear side windows and the back window may be obstructed as long as the vehicle has a securely mounted mirror on each side giving a clear view of the road behind and on both sides. There is one exception at the front. Where a driver has to be shielded from the sun for medical reasons, the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles may grant an exemption on a certificate signed by a licensed physician or optometrist. It covers the vent and front side windows only, not the windshield, and it ends when the vehicle is transferred.
