Kepler makes a separate architectural range for buildings, and that is the one to use at home: house glazing is not car glazing, and the two are built for different jobs. Utah's tint limits are a vehicle rule rather than a building one. Under Utah Code 41-6a-1635 a windshield must let more than 70% of light through and a front side window at least 35%, and any window with a metallic or mirrored appearance is prohibited. None of that applies to a house, which is why a reflective film like Chromosphere is an ordinary choice at home and would be an infraction on a car.

It is a fair question, and the answer depends on the glass more than on the film. Glass absorbs heat from the sun and passes it on, and a film changes how much it takes in, so the film has to suit the glazing it is going onto. Your dealer will ask what the windows are, single or double glazed, clear or already tinted, and how much direct sun they get, and should confirm the film is right for them before anything is fitted. Start with the room and the problem. Heat and glare on a south- or west-facing window, with the view kept: Polaris is close to clear at 53% and 68%. If you would rather the glass looked darker, Cosmic runs at 19% and 35%. If it is people seeing in, Chromosphere is reflective, Ecliptic is dual reflective and gives you back more of your own view, Aurora is frosted, and Orbit blacks the window out entirely. That depends on the window manufacturer, so check your terms before the film goes on; sealed units in particular often carry conditions about applied films. Ask your dealer to note which film is going on which pane, so you have it in writing. Kepler's own cover is separate and plainly stated: a 10-year limited warranty on architectural film, non-transferable, for the original purchaser, against manufacturing defects such as peeling, bubbling, cracking, adhesive failure and delamination. Claims go through the company that installed it, and an approved claim provides replacement film, with the installer's labour handled separately.

Yes, with one exception worth knowing about. Orbit, the blackout film, bonds permanently on install, so treat that one as a decision rather than a change of mind. It cuts solar heat gain, which is the thing that overheats a south-facing room and keeps the air conditioning running through a Utah afternoon.
