Kepler Wisconsin

Kepler manufactures window film and leaves the fitting to independent businesses. For cars there are two nano-ceramic ranges, Kepler IR and Kepler IR+, in shades running from a barely-there 69% down to 4%. For buildings there are seven, covering neutral and ceramic solar films, mirrored and dual-reflective finishes, frosted and blackout privacy films, and K-Shield for safety. Every shade is published with its own figures for light, heat, glare and UV, so you can see what you are buying before anyone touches your glass.

Kepler does not fit film and does not run the businesses that do. Our job is the introduction. Tell us what you drive or which windows you want covered, and your enquiry goes to an independent local tinter — an independent business that buys our film and fits it for a living. From there you deal with them directly. They know the ranges, they measure your glass and they give you the price, and the shade, the schedule and the cost are all settled between the two of you. If you want to compare before you commit, ask which range and which shade you are being quoted, then look up its published figures.

Wisconsin asks two different things of your glass. In summer, when the average high across the state tops 80F, a nano-ceramic film cuts the infrared heat that turns a parked car into an oven and makes a south-facing room hard to sit in. In winter, with snow on the ground and the sun sitting low, the same film is still earning its keep: it takes the hard edge off the glare and keeps out the UV that fades a dashboard or a hardwood floor whatever the thermometer says. Shade matters here too. Wisconsin holds front side windows to 50% light or lighter, while rear glass can go down to 35%.
